Graduate Training Program

The UNABSEC Graduate Training Program (GTP) was launched in 2019 to bridge the gap between academic training and industry practice in Uganda's construction sector. The program connects final year university and technical college students with UNABSEC member companies for hands-on practical training.

How the program works:

- Students from Makerere University, Kyambogo University, Uganda Polytechnic and other institutions apply through UNABSEC
- Applications are reviewed and matched to member companies based on specialisation
- Students are placed for periods of 3 to 6 months with participating member companies
- Member companies benefit from fresh graduate talent at subsidised cost
- Graduates gain real-world experience that makes them industry-ready
- Outstanding graduates are often absorbed as full employees by host companies

The program covers disciplines including civil engineering, architecture, quantity surveying, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and construction management.
